Bobby Fleener is a 3rd Degree Black Belt & Head Instructor at Spring City Martial Arts, in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.

Mr. Fleener began his humble Martial Arts journey, at the tender young age of 49. You can begin at any age. Mr. Fleener is a diligent student of the Martial Arts and his passion for it keeps him on the long path of continuous Study. At SCMA it is believed that there is no end to the study of Martial Arts. Bobby believes that one must always keep competing with one self to better one self, from Head Instructor to the entry level student. Being a father of 4, and grandfather of 12, Bobby loves teaching, especially the children. Bobby has been teaching at the El Dorado Springs Dojang, since 2003.

Bobby has competed in many sanctioned tournaments in the past, with accomplishments such as his 1st place win in forms (Kata) at the 2004 Bluegrass World Nationals, in Louisville, Ky. But more importantly to him, is his martial arts students, their accomplishments and their personal growth. Mr. Fleener is also involved with the promotion of Martial Arts and the betterment of Martial Arts Tournaments. Mr. Fleener is actively involved with various associates such as Master Mark Long and David Clifton of the Kansas City Area and organizations like ProAm to create a better environment for the Martial Arts Competitor. Mr. Fleener in doing so has also proudly hosted his third Open Martial Arts Tournament in August of 2008, with many to follow. Mr. Fleener is a certified official with the Professional Referee’s Organization (P.R.O.)

Mr. Fleener would like to thank those in the El Dorado Springs Community for their continued help and support.

In addition to being a 3rd Degree Black Belt in TKD, Bobby holds the rank of SCHiCHiKYU(7th Kyu/Level) in GOJU-RYU, a Japanese, hard/soft style of Martial Arts.

Chance Cyr

Chance Cyr is a 2nd Degree Black Belt & Certified Instructor at Spring City Martial Arts. Chance enjoys teaching and loves to compete. Chance has been involved in martial arts a number of years. Chance began his Martial Arts journey, at the age of nine in the Japanese style of Shukokai. After a couple of years absence from his martial arts training, Chance decided to join a Korean Style of martial arts known as Tae Kwon Do. Chance joined the local Tae Kwon Do school under the instruction of Mr. Bobby Fleener. Chance, a dedicated student trained hard and was rewarded with his 1st Degree black belt in 2005. In April 2006, Mr. Fleener opened SCMA and Mr. Cyr became the Head Assistant Instructor at the SCMA Dojang under the instruction of Mr. Fleener. Chance is evolving into a great instructor with many innovative ideas to make our school program fun, but yet a focused and disciplined place to train in the Martial Arts. Chance is a recent graduate of the Drury University Law Enforcement Academy..

Renshi Riaan Van Dyk - Donald Witt & The Ratliff Sisters

Renshi Anthony Riaan Van Dyk is a 5th degree Black Belt. Renshi Van Dyk is no stranger to Martial Arts, and began his journey, 27 years ago, in South Africa. He holds rank in Shukokai, Isshinryu and Shobayashi Shorin-Ryu Karate. He is a certified Instructor in Chinese Kempo, Tae Kwon Do and of the Israeli Fighting Arts. He has a Self Defense school called LotusFire Self-Defense Systems. He has trained under the best in the world including Hanshi Shigeru Kimura, Sensei Danie Ludick, Terry Creamer, & Harold “Hogan” McVey. Renshi Van Dyk received his first Black Belt, in 1991 from Shihan Lionel Marinus 8th Dan while a student under Sensei Danie Ludick in Pietersburg, South Africa. His Martial Arts career highlights include, but are not limited to: 1999 World Karate Union Hall of Fame Inductee-Instructor of the Year, a winner of multiple World Championship titles, and has instructed many National & World Champion students. Renshi Van Dyk specializes in teaching of Kimura Shukokai Karate, as well as personal self-defense, hand to hand combat & rape prevention. He also teaches the art of Kobudo(weapons) & tournament point sparring. Renshi Van Dyk holds seminars and is teaching personal self defense, tournament point sparring and weapons classes on scheduled weekends at SCMA and makes a unscheduled visit to our weekday classes every now and then. In addition to being part of the SCMA Testing Board, Mr. Van Dyk will represent SCMA at tournaments as a Team Coach and as an accomplished Judge and Referee. Renshi Van Dyk is a certified Judge with the Professional Judges and Arbitrators Council, the International Judges & Arbitrators Federation and the Professional Referee’s Organization (P.R.O.).

Mr. Donald Witt is an Assistant Instructor and a 2nd Degree Black Belt with SCMA. Donald has been a Certified Instructor with SCMA, since July 2006. Donald is a passionate martial artist and is doing an excellent job instructing some of our classes. He is also a fierce competitor on the tournament circuit and has made his school and fellow students very proud. Donald, additionally holds belt rank in Shukokai Ryu Karate, a Japanese style of Martial Arts. Mr. Witt was a former karateka(student) under the tutelage of Renshi Van Dyk. It's a small world, isn't it?

We also have the addition of sisters Kelli and Brandi Ratliff to the SCMA Staff. These two young ladies are Black Belts and are very skilled fighters. Kelli and Brandi are a big addition to our sparring program. They can be found here at the El Dorado Springs Dojang when they can get away from work and school responsibilities over in Stockton, Missouri.
