Bobby Fleener is a 3rd Degree Black Belt & Sensei @ Spring City Martial Arts, in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.

Bobby began his humble Martial Arts journey, at the tender young age of 49. You can begin at any age. Bobby has competed in MMA sanctioned tournaments in the the past years, but now is involved with SWAT,in association with Mr. Jim Riggs and other promoters in SWAT . Of Martial Arts accomplishments Bobby is fond of, is his 1st place win in forms (Kata) at the 2004 Bluegrass World Nationals, in Louisville, Ky. More importantly, is his martial arts kids' accomplishments and their personal growth.

Being a father of 4, and grandfather of 11, Bobby loves teaching, especially the children. Bobby has been teaching at the El Dorado Springs Dojang, since 2003, & proudly hosted his second tournament, August 11th 2007, in the new Community Civic Center, in El Dorado Springs.I couldn't have done it without a lot of help. I thank all who helped me,and a big thank you local community, for your support.

In addition to being a 3rd Degree Black Belt in TKD, Bobby holds the rank of SCHiCHiKYU(7th level/aYellow Belt) in GOJU-RYU, a Japanese, hard/soft style of Martial Arts.

Instructor Chance Cyr is a newly promoted 2nd Degree Black Belt & Certified Instructor at Spring City Martial Arts, in El Dorado Springs.Chance enjoys teaching and loves to spar(kumite)(controlled points fighting).Chance has been in karate a number of years, beginning in his younger years. Chance began his Martial Arts journey,at the age of nine. It was a Japanese style, instructed by Mr.Riaan VanDyk. Chance holds the rank of a blue belt in that Japanese style. After a couple of years absence from karate, Chance decided to join a Korean Style of karate,known as Tae Kwon Do. Mr.Bobby Fleener was teaching that style, a style taught to him by a Tae Kwon Do instructor from Springfield, Mo. Chance trained and was dedicated and focused for 2 hard years, and tested to his 1st Degree black belt rank, in Nov. of 2005. In April 2006, Mr. Fleener chose a different philosophical path than that of the Springfield instructor. Mr. Cyr elected to remain involved with Mr. Fleener and the El Dorado Springs Dojang. Chance has been with Mr. Fleener, nearly 3 years now, and is like family. Mr. Cyr is also evolving into quite the Jr. business associate, with many innovate ideas to make our Dojang fun , yet a focused and disciplined place to train in the Martial Arts. This is a defining year for Chance, as a Jr. business associate, and as a Senior at El Dorado Springs High School.

As of the 1st of October, last year, 2006, Spring City Martial Arts, became most fortunate to be able to add years of Martial Arts experience, to our staff. Renshi Anthony Riaan Van Dyk, 5th degree Black Belt, came "onboard" with SCMA. Riaan is no stranger to Martial Arts, and began his journey, 26 years ago, in 1981. His style: Shukokai-Ryu,Isshin-Ryu,Shobayashi Shorin-Ryu,Chinese Kempo,Aikido,TaeKwonDo, & Krav Maga. Riaan has a self defense school called LotusFire Self-Defense Systems.Riaan has trained under Hanshi Shigeru Kimura,Shihan-Dai Kal Rooks,Renshi Danie Ludick, Terry Creamer, & Harold Hogan McVey. Mr. Van Dyk received his Black Belt, in 1991. Riaan's Martial Arts career highlights include, but are not limited to: 1999 World Karate Union Hall of Fame Inductee-Instructor of the Year, a winner of multiple World Championship titles, and has instructed many National & World Champion students. Renshi Anthony(Riaan) Van Dyk, 5th degree Black Belt, specializes in teaching personal self-defense, hand to hand combat & rape prevention. Riaan also teaches the art of Kobudo(weapons) & tournament point sparring. Mr. Van Dyk, is teaching personal self defense and tournament point sparring, on our Wednesday nights, does the self defense training , throughout the year in 2007.In addition, Riaan will sits on our SCMA Testing Board. We are very happy and welcome Mr. Riaan Van Dyk, to SCMA. On November 17, 2007, Donald Witt was tested and promoted to Black Belt, 1st Degree. Donald has been a Certified Instructor, with SCMA, since July 2006.Donald is doing an excellant job instructing and will make an outstanding Black Belt,1st Degree. Donald, additionally holds belt rank in a Japanese style Martial Arts, taught by Mr.Riaan Van Dyk.It's a small world, isn't it?
